While serving in Land of the Mayans, your family will be staying at the secure “DCI Missionary Campus.” Rooms are furnished with beds, A/C and a private bathroom with a hot-water shower. Purified water is provided for all. While serving in the Land of the Mayans, your family will be staying at the secure “DCI Missionary Campus.”
DCI owns the campus where you will lodge. Unfortunately, there are many people who take mission trips that have bad experiences because the organization used a borrowed location such as a school, church or cheap motel for lodging. Many times they make people sleep on a floor. That’s not the best way to experience a third world country! At the DCI missionary campus, you are guaranteed nice clean missions housing with a bed, A/C and a bathroom. Very comfortable sleeping arrangements where you can safely rest. When choosing a mission organization, you should always ask about your sleeping conditions. This way, there are no surprises on arrival.
At DCI, your leaders are full time in-country living staff. Your team leaders on a DCI mission trip have years of experience leading teams, unlike many organizations you find on the web that use people trying to raise a little extra cash or people who don’t even live in the country where you are going. At DCI your senior leaders live and work in the land of the Mayans. They know the people and culture of the region. This makes your experience even better.
Our tropical mission campus is a place where people seek the Lord's direction for the rest of their life. After a long day of missionary service, people find that the properties are a beautiful, peaceful setting to rest and enjoy one another's company.
Campus accommodations are diverse. They vary from private family rooms to large airy dorm rooms perfect for student or intergenerational mission teams. There is a kitchen with a refrigerator and use of a microwave to warm up food. Free coffee is available daily and there is a store where snacks are sold just down the road.
Food: A wonderful team of local women will be preparing and serving all meals. A mix of very tasty Central American and USA type foods will be served. DCI is well known for our great meals and there is always plenty to eat.
